Wrapping Up The Big E 2024: 13 Stars Hot Sauce Success

What an amazing last three weeks! We have just wrapped up another year of The Big E and it was absolutely be one that we never forget. From the start of the festival, it was clear that this year was going to be something special for us at 13 Stars Hot Sauce. We are so lucky to have been a part of these past three weeks.

We are so lucky to have had three full weeks of talking all about hot sauce and watching people tackle the Lone Star Challenge. Including meeting so many amazing veterans, first responders, and their family members. From hearing their incredible stories firsthand or listening to family members share them on their behalf

We welcomed some new hot sauce fans and made exciting announcements we're eager to share in the coming weeks. Before we get into what's next (and trust me, it’s going to be great), let’s take a moment to look back at all the fun—and maybe laugh at ourselves a bit.

The Lone Star Challenge: A Fiery Success

First off, can we discuss the brave souls who dared to take on The Lone Star Challenge this year? You guys absolutely blew us away. For those who don’t know, The Lone Star Challenge features our infamous 1,200,000 SHU piece of chocolate, which is basically lava in a bottle.

And for some reason, people were lining up to try it! It could have been chili peppers, cayenne pepper, or ghost peppers, the line would have been the same! Whether you came in confident or left questioning your life choices, each participant helped us raise one of the biggest checks we will donating to Pets for Vets. When there is a good cause involved, it is amazing what people will do.

We had so much fun filming the challenge reactions—you guys had some priceless faces. We might even have to start a blooper reel. In all seriousness, we are though. Who knew that eating hot chocolate could create so much entertainment?

Connecting with Hot Sauce Enthusiasts from All Over

One of the best parts of The Big E for us is always meeting new people who have never tried our sauce before, but this year? This year, we had conversations with folks from all over the country.

Some came for the fair (and for us, of course), while others stumbled across our booth in the Rhode Island Building and left with a new favorite hot sauce.

It’s always cool when someone stops by just to “try a sample,” and next thing you know, they’re buying every flavor we’ve got. From the mild but delicious Mean Green to the seriously spicy Nuclear Option, we loved seeing people find their perfect match. Who knew we’d be a matchmaker for hot sauce and taste buds?

More Than Just Hot Sauce – It's a Cause

Let’s not forget what makes us really proud to be doing what we do—giving back to the veteran community. With every bottle we sold, a portion of the proceeds went to help support veterans through organizations like Pets for Vets.

Thanks to the success of this year’s Big E, we’re cutting one of the biggest donation checks we’ve ever written. It’s not just about selling hot sauce; it’s about making a real difference, and we’re so thankful for everyone who helped us achieve that.
